Love the softness conveyed in this photograph - B&W works well, because the colour of flowers often dominates the lovely textures.

Shame we cannot smell a photograph!

Interesting, when you take away the colors it becomes about pattern and texture. Never would have thought to try this.

This works wonderfully in soft muted grays making you look at pattern and texture rather than the flower itself.

the shot has an old fashoned feel, like something you'd find in a museum. not sure if you were going for that, but it works for me.

It's nice.. a macro shot not obsessed by technical perfection of the photo. It gives a sense of freshness and spontaneity.

I think it is not "just another photo of a rose" It's a great one! The B/W is surprising for this subject, and very good choice, as GN said.
