Interesting, when you take away the colors it becomes about pattern and texture. Never would have thought to try this.
Wow...this rose looks so full! I love all the soft lights and shadows...
This works wonderfully in soft muted grays making you look at pattern and texture rather than the flower itself.
It's nice.. a macro shot not obsessed by technical perfection of the photo. It gives a sense of freshness and spontaneity.
nice soft effect ... could be on a greeting card :-P
great photo, sarah! i agree with crash, this could be on a greeting card.
I think it is not "just another photo of a rose" It's a great one! The B/W is surprising for this subject, and very good choice, as GN said.
